Indian Market Outlook: Indian benchmark Index Nifty, had a quiet session trading in a range of 60 points yesterday. Though the intraday swings were of 40 to 50 points, the net closing at the end of the day was down by 0.2 percent. NSE Small Cap Index remained near all time high of 6400 and is displaying tremendous strength which is a classical bull market sign. The top gainers in trading in Nifty 51 stocks yesterday were Idea Cellular and BHEL.
Nifty Futures is expected to open at 8686 as per SGX Nifty at 8:30 am IST, which is 5 points above its previous close of 8661.
Open Interest Index F&O and Cash Segment Activity
In cash segment, last trading day, FII have sold shares worth Rs. 282.77 Cr and DII bought shares worth Rs. 725 Cr. A combined buy of Rs. 442 Cr. For this expiry, FII and DII together are buyers worth Rs. 1880 Cr.
In Index Options, last trading day, FII have sold 30649 contracts, above its 1 year average of 18280 contracts. Pro have bought 2297 contracts, below its 1 year average of 27670 contracts. Combined there has been a net sell of 28352 contracts, below its 1 year average of 39000 contracts. For the current expiry, FII and Pro combined are net sellers of 81124 contracts.
In Index Futures, last trading day, FII have sold 1756 contracts, below its 1 year average of 9706 contracts. Pro have sold 2310 contracts, below its 1 year average of 4903 contracts. Combined there has been a net sell of 4066 contracts below its 1 year average of 9401 contracts. For the current expiry, FII and Pro combined are net sellers of 98252 contracts.
International Market Morning Update:
International markets gave a positive close with S&P Futures giving a solid closing at 2139 and German Dax also closing at 10664. The bullish international markets will await European Central Bank policy meet due today at 5:15 pm which will lay the course of future policies and decide when to taper the existing stimulus. S&P Futures will need to close above 2144 to have a meaningful upside momentum. A sideways movement can be expected in next few trading sessions.
China's GDP YoY Data came at 7:30am and was as per the market expectations it came at 6.7%.
