Surya Roshni, a leading producer of GI - galvanised iron pipes in the nation, is all set to commission a modern steel pipe plant at Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh to cater to the steel pipe market of South India. The company has been marketing its products under the brand name of ‘Prakash Surya’ since more than four decades.
The Hindupur plant has a production capacity of 1,00,000 mt per annum. It has been set up to manufacture square and rectangular sections and GI Pipes to cater to the steel pipe market of southern India. The company products sold under brand name of Prakash Surya has presence in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
B. Raju, Managing Director of Surya Roshni, in a statement said that as a leading brand, Prakash Surya steel pipes had a strong presence in the market and the novel plant would further strengthen presence.
Meanwhile, Surya Roshni share price was trading at Rs.226.75, up 9.54 per cent higher on the NSE today. The stock opened at Rs.208 from a previous closing of Rs.207. At 12:52 pm, a total of 14,62,025 shares had changed hands on the NSE counter having a traded value of Rs. 3,234.58.
Presently, the Surya Roshni has a pipe production capacity of about 7 lacs mt per annum, manufacturing plain, GI pipes and spiral pipes.
The Rs. 4,200 cr Surya Group is now seeking to concentrate on value added products like hollow sections, American Petroleum Institute (API) certified pipes for oil and gas and spiral pipes under numerous grades.
The products of the company are sold via its strong pan-India network of dealers and exported to more than 40 countries.
