Nifty Remains Choppy between 8700 and 8633

The Nifty opened at 8639 this morning, 13 points above its closing on the 30th of October (Mahurat Trading). The index then went on to make a low of 8633 before recovering sharply midway through the day’s trade. The Index displayed immense strength towards the second half of the day’s trade when it made a high of 8705. The short bout of buying however could not be sustained and Nifty slipped below its previous high of 8687. The benchmark index later closed at 8650, 24 points above its previous close of 8626. Top gainers today were Eicher Motors, Hindalco, Tatasteel, NTPC and HDFC.
