HDFC share price is 1.2% down on NSE while its volume has surged 20.64%. HDFC registered marginal pick up in the business growth during the April-June quarter with 14.9% growth in AUM - Assets Under Management. Higher sell down of assets and combative pressure seems to have placed some pressure on net interest margin during the quarter wherein the net interest margin was down 10 bps QoQ to 3.8 per cent.
During the quarter HDFC booked gains of Rs 725 cr on its sell of 22.9 per cent stake in General Insurance business and thus the posted PAT looks higher at Rs 1871 cr. But adjusting for the onetime gain and Rs 275 cr worth of additional provisions the registered were almost in line with expectations.
Asset quality witnessed marginal weakening as observed from the GNPAs per cent which saw 5 bps rise going up to 0.75 per cent vs 0.70 per cent QoQ
