Indian Market Outlook: Nifty Futures traded with high volatility in a small range of 61 points yesterday. Nifty opened at 8229 and that was the day's high too. It fell sharply by 61 points to test its previous day's low of 8172 after making a low of 8172. A sharp buying was seen in the second half where Nifty Futures retested its day high and again fell sharply to finally close at 8204. US FED announced a rate hike yesterday post which Dollar Index has given a breakout above 12 year high after making a high of 102.59 today morning. As a result, the emerging market currency pack is getting weaker. This would result in continued pressure in the Indian Markets. Small Cap Index, good representation of the broader Indian market, has already shown weakness yesterday. Nifty Futures has its next level downside at 8076 and if this too is broken, it might retest 7920 level.
Nifty Future is opening at 8120 as per SGX Nifty at 8:30 am IST, 80 points below its previous close of 8204.
FII Activity for the year 2016
The net FII's figure in cash market has turned marginally negative amounting to Rs. 2563.64 Cr, after heavy Nov Selling figure, which was Rs. 19981.5 Cr
Open Interest Index F&O and Cash Segment Activity
In cash segment, last trading day, FII have sold shares worth Rs.632 Cr and DII bought shares worth Rs.211 Cr. A combined sell of Rs. 421 Cr. For this expiry, FII and DII together are net sell worth Rs. 1841 Cr.
In Index Options, last trading day, FII have sold 17384 contracts, below its 1 year average of 18280 contracts. Pro have sold 10923 contracts, below its 1 year average of 27670 contracts. Combined there has been a net sell of 28307 contracts, below its 1 year average of 39000 contracts. For the current expiry, FII and Pro combined are net buyers of 96421 contracts.
In Index Futures, last trading day, FII have sold 1560 contracts, below its 1 year average of 9706 contracts. Pro have bought 922 contracts, below its 1 year average of 4903 contracts. Combined there has been a net sell of 638 contracts below its 1 year average of 9401 contracts. For the current expiry, FII and Pro combined are net buyers of 32847 contracts.
International Market Morning Update:
Today morning, Asian markets are trading in the red with MSCI emerging markets index trading down by 1.2%.
After the FED rate hike yesterday night, American markets, S&P 500 has fallen by 30 points from its altime high of 2278 to 2248.
German Dax ended flat yesterday but might be under pressure today.
